Economic Development

Located in the heart of the Peace Country the Town of McLennan's strategic location provides potential business opportunities for retail and personal services to trades and industrial.

The most recent development in the area is only 2 kms west of the town, the Cargill $40 million state of the art farm service centre.

McLennan is home to just under 1,000 people, and being the centre of some core services for residents of surrounding communities, the town is the ideal community to start a new business in.

Locate where your customers have good access to you and where your suppliers can ship to you quickly.

Business Advantages:

  • Traffic
A significant amount of traffic is generated through McLennan on Highway 2 (3rd Avenue) and the proposed road linking McLennan to the community of Peavine will provide the town with a larger serving area in the near future.
  • Railway Industry
CN Rail has a base in McLennan and railway tracks running  through town.  The rail line services areas from Smith to Hay River, Northwest Territories consisting of major clients in the pulp, lumber and OSB mills, grain producers, and fuel distributors.
  • Affordable Commercial & Industrial Land
A variety of lots are available through private developers.  The cost of land is lower than in larger centres.
