Council Meeting & Procedures
Council meetings are held on the second Monday of the month. Meetings are open to the public and commence at 6:30p.m.
If you have a topic that you would like to discuss, you can speak to your Councilor before the day of the council meeting or send in a letter of request to be a delegation at the meeting. Council meetings are set to be observation only for the public.
Open Meetings – Regular meetings & Any Special Meetings
All council meetings are open to the public and no person shall be excluded except for improper conduct. This includes regularly scheduled meetings and any special meetings. All council decisions must be made during an open meeting and recorded in the meeting minutes.
The media and general public cannot attend the closed discussion (items such as those within Division 2 of Part 1 of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act ) but are welcome to return to the council meeting following the closed session.
During Public Hearings the Mayor will:
Introduce the items on the Agenda, in the order established by Council.
Call upon the following to speak, in the order designated:
- persons IN FAVOUR
- persons IN OPPOSITION
