Roads, Sidewalks & Pathways
The Town has many routeways to get around including sidewalks, paved and gravel roads and pathways on the lakeshore. The Town’s Untidy & Unsightly Bylaw, Snow Removal Bylaw and the Sidewalk Snow Removal & Maintenance Bylaw are all resources that will give direction for commercial, residential and the town’s obligations for snow removal and grass cutting.
When we all pull together as a community, we are guaranteed wonderful results.
What to expect in 2019
- Roadways will see crack sealing underway again this year.
- Gravel will be applied to Bousfield Avenue from 3rd Street NW to Range Road 195. This initiative will be completed this summer with the support of the MD of Smoky River.
Under the Ministry of Transportation, Highway 2 is maintained by a private contractor. Concerns with maintenance, pot holes and street repair should be directed to La Prairie Works Inc at 780-925-2077.
Residents can send their request to have their sidewalk removed adjacent to their property in writing to the CAO for decisioning.
The Public Works department will remove and dispose of the concrete and provide fill dirt to the area. Property owner requesting the removal will be responsible for the grass seed, seeding, mowing and watering of the boulevard.
