2025 Municipal Election

The next municipal general election will be held on Monday, October 20th, 2025.

Nomination Packages are available at the town office January 3, 2025 or if you’d like it emailed to you simply email admin@mclennan.ca to request a package.

Nominations open on January 1st, 2025, however as the office will be closed for the holidays, the earliest a nomination paper can be filed is January 3rd, 2025.

Register of Candidates
In accordance with the Local Authorities Election Act s. 147.22, the Town is required to maintain a register listing all individuals who have filed a Notice of Intent to Run in the upcoming general election. 

The following are the candidates who have submitted their Notice of Intent to Run. The list will be updated weekly.

  • Darlene Payou
  • Jason Doris

Training
New this year is Council mandatory training. Required mandatory training will be as follows:

November 1st, 2025 – Munis 101 held in Grande Prairie (mandatory)
Date TBA – Emergency Management Training for Local Authorities Elected Officials (mandatory)
October 29th, 2025 – George Cuff (optional)
